What a GrantGranter Guide contains, how credits work and what happens to your data.

What a Guide contains

A Guide is a fundraising plan for one organisation. It has six parts, one tab each:

Overview
A summary, the headline numbers and what we know about your organisation.
Open now
Funds we checked were open on the day the Guide was made, soonest deadline first, with how well each one fits you. Funds we couldn't check are listed separately as “probably open, not verified”.
Roadmap
What opens over the next 12 months, grouped by when.
Applications
Your best-fitting funds (up to 10), each drafted question by question, with eligibility, why it fits and what to do before you submit. Every answer has a Copy button.
To confirm
The facts only you can supply (see below).
Sources
Every page we used, and when we read it.

Nothing is called open unless this Guide checked it.

Starting a Guide

On Guides, type your organisation's name. Add the village, town or postcode if the name is common, and paste anything we should know (a few lines from an annual report or project plan) in the notes. Your notes are used before anything we find online. The page shows each stage as it runs.

Confirming your organisation

First we research the organisation and show you what we found: its name, school, area, postcode, local authority, website and charity number. Correct anything that's wrong and pick the right charity number (or say there isn't one). You can also add a few quick facts, such as what you're raising money for.

The long search starts only when you confirm, so every fund is judged against the right organisation. A Guide that isn't confirmed within seven days is closed and its credit returned.

What the statuses mean

Each Guide shows three separate statuses.

Run: how far the Guide has got
QueuedRunningPausedCompleteFailedCancelled
Confirmation: whether we need you to confirm the organisation

Credit: whether the Guide used a credit
ChargedRefunded— Not charged

While a Guide is running, its page lists every stage with its own state.

Credits

  • Each Guide uses one credit, taken when you start it.
  • If the Guide fails, you cancel it, or it isn't confirmed within seven days, the credit is returned. Retrying a failed Guide uses a credit again.
  • Your balance is in the account menu and on Settings.
  • Credits are added by an administrator. There is no way to buy them in the app: ask the person who invited you.

[TO CONFIRM] markers

Where a draft needs a fact we couldn't verify, or one only you know (pupil numbers, your bank account, a project cost), it says so in place: [TO CONFIRM: number of pupils]. We never invent a fact to fill the gap.

The To confirm tab lists every marker and where it appears. Replace each one before you submit an application.

The PDF

On a finished Guide, Download PDF makes the PDF in your browser from the same Guide you see on the page; Download Markdown gives you the text to paste elsewhere. Try it with the sample Guide:

Privacy

  • Your Guides are visible only to you and to GrantGranter's administrators.
  • What you type (the name, place and notes) is sent to AI models and used in web searches to research and write your Guide.
  • When we check a fund's own web page, we may keep public facts about that fund (never about you) to improve later Guides.
  • Deleting a Guide removes it.

Invitations

GrantGranter is by invitation only: there is no sign-up. An administrator invites you by email, and the link in that email lets you set your password. The link works for 72 hours; if it has expired, the page offers to send you a new one.

Resetting your password

On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password? and enter your email. If you have an account, we send you a link to set a new password. The page shows the same message either way, so it never reveals who has an account.

API

Everything in the app is also available over a JSON API, using your signed-in session. The reference is at /api/v1/docs.
